However, heavy forces have been deployed in the region and Section-144 CrCP has also been imposed in many parts to maintain law and order in the national capital. On the other hand, internet services have been suspended in 21 districts of Uttar Pradesh districts over concerns of further protests against the amended Citizenship Act. UP DGP OP Singh, quoted by ANI, said that the internet services have been suspended in 21 districts of the state while adding that the law and situation in the state is “absolutely under control”.
“We are not touching innocents and we will not spare people who were involved in it (violence). And that is the reason we have arrested active members of many organisations, whether it is PFI or any other political parties,” he said.
